• Aim To stimulate greater interest and enthusiasm amongst club fencers by fencing those from other clubs on a monthly basis
• Opportunity to:
o Promote H&W
o Promote events and activities, eg: Senior Individual, Redditch Club, H&W team Championships
o Attract more fencers
o Identify talent
o Improve fencing and refereeing skills
• Concept Club of the Month is a series informal events hosted by one of the H&W Clubs each month with H&W support. Each event sees Clubs fielding groups of fencers in the 3 weapons, at all levels and ages, at the host Club. Prizes are not proposed, people fence for the pleasure!
• Format Fencers can fence as many fights as they wish. A flexible and self organising structure, fenced over 2 hours:
o fencers book in
o put up their names on a board, matching themselves to those already on the board
o engage a referee
o fence against their match
o record the outcome on a ‘fencing card’
o repeat
• Social Each hosting club is asked to provide a social event after the fencing
• Finance
o Fencers are asked to pay their normal club subs which goes to the host club
• Marketing Through e-mails, websites and word of mouth
